Where to buy a Golli? Good question.

The species is under threat.

Too many predators you see.

In the UK the controversial curios are on display at Wizzard, part of the Albert Dock complex in Liverpool.

Trading standards officials have apparently visited Wizzard and advised staff the Golli lad is likely to cause offence to customers. But they had the grace to admit they had no power to confiscate them.

So try calling Wizzard on +44 (0)151 709 0113. The may do mailorder.

In Wigan - about ten yards from the traffic lights next to 'The Famous Old Pagefield' pub, near the bottom of Gidlow Lane where it crosses Park Road - is a small furniture shop with Golliwogs in the window (last time I looked).

Also try contacting The Ginger Pop Shop (after Enid Blyton's phrase 'lashings of ginger pop')in Dorset. http://www.gingerpop.co.uk/index.htm
Because she sold/sells Gollywogs (Enid Blyton did a series of stories about Gollywogs) the owner was accused of racism by some cowardly person who pushed an unsigned note throuth the shop letterbox. Funnily enough, she is half Indian and has experienced racism herself. But that doesn't count to the slack jawed, spit flecked, intellectually challenged defenders of Political Correctness.
